If you want to ski, come to Zakopane. With over 50 lifts, everyone can ride the slopes and or cross-the-country if that's more your style. Climbing is also popular here as shown by the numerous trails winding their way through the Tatras. Another winter sport enjoyed here is ice-skating, and for the faster amongst you, speed-skating competitions. For the survivalist in you, take a 'survival' tour that will teach you how to enjoy a Polish winter without the essentials.
In the summer, hike, climb, or bike ride through the mountains. Riding of another sort is possible in the schools of horsemanship but if the air is more your style, you can join the increasing number of paragliders lifting off from the Tatra peaks. If a less active approach tempts you, sit in the sun and catch the rays or enjoy the many indoor and outdoor swimming pools.
